Security Chat

As in any other irc networks, there are rules on this one too.

These are the rule of irc.securitychat.org, read them, understand them, and sure as hell follow them, or the next thing you will be reading is a gline/gzline message. They may sound strict but we strive to provide a nice learning environment that is a class above other networks. We take security and your privacy serious. We will do our best to provide you with that service.

* Use of this irc server is a privilege NOT a right!

* Respect the oper's and the administrators! The staff will not tolerate any kind of disrespect against any staff member, we work our butts off for you. Disrespect can result in warnings, up to a ban.

* Respect the other ircers! There will be no harassment of any user on the IRC. If you are holding a grudge against another member, do not take it out here. If you feel that you want to be left alone, it is perfectly okay to use the /ignore command on the IRC to ignore who ever is bothering you.

* No explicit questions, such as 'can someone hack www.somesite.com' or 'how do I hack www.blah.com', etc on certain channels. We are not here to do work for you, nor will we provide you with links to easy to use "hack tools" that will assist you in your malicious activity. We are here to guide you and help you learn all sides of technology, not to hold your hand. We are not here to encourage the malicious and illegal activity of hacking, but to teach all sides of it, for the purpose of helping others.

* If a channel have more than four/five users normally a staff member will idle to be available for help. If you have a problem with a certain ircoper you may request another one with out fear.

* Maximum of one non-malicious bot per chan if required.

* Use common sense! And don't be stupid!

* We will not supply, so do not ask for cracks, keygens, serials, or fully functioning programs (that should cost money) on certain channels.

* Do not advertise or spam channels with nonsense.

* You will not pretend to be another registered member at any time. We will handle it as identify theft and will take action accordingly.

* The staff will never give out your personal information, nor will we supply anyone else with your IP address. Also, the staff will never ask you for your login details.

* Please use the ghost command when signing on more than one system or location. This is for your security.

* We have a lot of younger users and it is therefore unfitting that you post anything pornographic or anything else that is not good for sensitive persons for that matter. If you want to share your "material", you can do so in PM where you have more control over who watches. There are enough places to view this material with out bringing it one this network.

* You will not post links to malicious applications that could cause harm to the users. If you have created a program that you are proud of and want to share, then inform users before posting.

* IRC Admin's decision is the final decision.

* Despite all the rules we are a "down to earth" network. Feel free to express your thoughts and ideas. Use knowledge to gain more knowledge. Be yourself with out harming others. If you need to bend the rules please ask and explain prior.
